Choose your natural wonder:

Walleye, muskie, northern pike, crappies, and more are waiting for you in one of our many recreational lakes. Post a picture of yourself trying to land a lunker—bonus points if it includes a fish!

For some exercise, sunshine, and adrenaline, launch your canoe, kayak, or paddleboard on one of McGregor’s three adventure-ready rivers. Let’s see your best paddling pose.

Take in breathtaking fall colors as the leaves start to change. Go for a hike, take a drive, or for a really spectacular view, climb the 94-foot Big Sandy Overlook Tower. Don’t forget to take a selfie!

Experience McGregor’s natural wonders by ATV—enjoy the scenery, observe the wildlife, and visit neighboring communities. Show us your ride on McGregor’s 200+ miles of ATV trails.

Drive through or go for a hike at Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge and share what you find. Teeming with everything from waterfowl to warblers, this is truly a birders paradise—but you might catch a glimpse of some of McGregor’s other wildlife: porcupine, deer, racoons, or bears.

Visit Savanna Portage State Park and hike hardwood forests, grasslands, and bogs to  snap a photo at the Continental Divide and earn this decal. Here, the water to the west flows into the Mississippi River and the water to the east flows into Lake Superior.

Enjoy the water while you still can! Show off your waterskiing, tubing, or surfing skills while boating on one of our recreational lakes.

Stay & Eat

There’s a lot to explore, so you might want to plan to stay awhile. Bring your tent or trailer for mosquito-free fall camping at Savanna Portage State Park, Sandy Lake Dam and Recreation Area, or at any one of McGregor’s numerous campgrounds. If you’re more of the resort type, we have plenty of lodging options for you to relax and recharge.

Fuel up at one of McGregor’s restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, or other dining options. From Northwoods-inspired woodfired pizza, juicy burgers, and fresh fish, to delectable baked goods—you’ll be sure to find your favorite eats for dine-in or take out!
