Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative’s (MLEC) mission is to responsibly provide reliable, competitively-priced energy, services and products to meet the needs of our members and customers. The cooperative has more than 15,000 electric services over 1,986 miles of line throughout Aitkin, Mille Lacs and Crow Wing counties.
MLEC offers energy- and money-saving Off Peak and Dual Fuel programs, as well as rebates for appliances, air conditioners, water heaters, and more. High-speed satellite and fiber Internet are also offered. Please contact MLEC for more information on services available in your area.

Celebrating over 40 years in workforce development, the Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training (NEMOJT) is a regional unit of government established under a joint powers agreement between the seven counties of Northeast Minnesota. It is the grant recipient and administrative entity of federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds, state and county grants as well as private donations.
NEMOJT serves job seekers, including dislocated workers, people wishing to enter or re-enter the workforce, youth, and adults interested in training and education. Services include career planning and exploration, personalized job search strategies, funding for postsecondary education, and financial resources to support job search activities.
NEMOJT is located in CareerForce locations in Duluth, Grand Rapids, International Falls, Hibbing, Virginia, Cloquet, and Aitkin. NEMOJT staff also provide services on-site at local community and technical colleges as well as in K12 school districts throughout the region and are available to travel to any site where career guidance is needed.

Northland Counseling Center Inc. is a nonprofit, Community Mental Health Center licensed by the state of Minnesota Department of Human Services. Established in 1959, Northland Counseling Center Inc. has been providing mental health, counseling, psychiatric and chemical dependency services for our communities in the counties of Itasca, Aitkin and Koochiching.

Riverwood Healthcare Center operates a 25-bed hospital in Aitkin plus three primary care clinics in Aitkin, Garrison and McGregor. The McGregor clinic is staffed by a team of friendly and experienced healthcare professionals and offers a wide range of primary healthcare services, from routine exams to specialized services like mammography, physical therapy and diabetes and nutrition education. Lab and x-ray services are also provided on site. Riverwood provides Urgent Care at its Aitkin clinic, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Specialty care from cardiology to general surgery and orthopedics may also be accessed in Aitkin.

The Tamarack Sno-Flyers Snowmobile Club started grooming trails in 1972. We now groom 155.1 miles of trails in Aitkin County.
We meet the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at our clubhouse located in Tamarack. Everyone is welcome to join!
